The Settings screen is where the software is configured to work with your website, as well customized for your specific needs. Below are explanations for each of the Setting fields.
Upon installation this field is set and should not be changed unless you want your Master Websites created in a sub directory and not in the www root. If you want replicated sites to have the shortest possible URL, then they should be created in the www root. To do this, simply enter the complete URL of your website followed by a forward slash as in the following example.
http://www.yourdomain.com/
The above Base URL would give your replicated sites the following URL:http://www.yourdomain.com/product/customer
(where "product" is your Master Website Directory path, and "customer" is the name of the replicated site).To have your MWD's created in an existing sub directory called "upg", then your Base URL and replicated sites would look like this:
Base URL> http://www.yourdomain.com/upg/
Replicated Site> http://www.yourdomain.com/upg/product/customer

As in the Base URL, the Base Directory is also the location where where MWD's are created. The only difference is that it's not the URL path, it's the directory path. Again, In most cases this should be the path to the www root. You shouldn't need to change this field unless you want Master Websites created in an existing sub directory.
IMPORTANT: Each host company not only has a different path leading to the www root, but also a different name for the www directory root itself. Some common www root names are "public_html", or "htdocs" or "www". Below is an example of a Base Directory using both the www root and an existing sub directory.
Base Directory: /usr/local/etc/httpd/htdocs/
Sub directory "upg" example: /usr/local/etc/httpd/htdocs/upg/Remember, the above is just an example and that yours will probably be different. To find out the path to your www root contact your host company.

The "Mail Program or SMTP Server" field is either the path to your Sendmail program or your SMTP mail server address. This may vary on all servers and domains. Contact your host company to obtain this information. If this setting is not entered correctly, the email features will not work. You can use the "Test" button to see if it is set correctly, but before you do, make sure you have entered your Email Address in the field below. If it is working correctly, you will get a message screen stating so, as well as a blank email to the address entered below.

This field should contain your complete email address and will be used with all email features. For example, it will appear in the FROM field of the Confirmation and Expire emails.

This setting is where you enter the text that you want to appear in the Confirmation Emails. After you replicate a website, this email is automatically sent to your client. If you also want to receive this email, then select Yes as noted above.
The Subject Line field appears as the Subject of the email and the Body Text field appears in the body of the email. The program automatically enters the Customer Name, Replicated Website Address and Expire Date into the email directly above the Body Text as you can see from the format below.
Hello <customers name>
Your new Web site address is: http://yourdomain.com/mwd/customer/ and expires on: xx/xx/xxxx
<Body Text appears hear>

This setting is where you Select whether or not you want an Expire Email sent notifying clients that their website is about to expire. In the Select Pre-expire Date field you enter the amount of days before a website expires you want the Expire Email to be sent. Leave it blank if you are not using Expire Emails. You can also select the Expire Email Recipients as You, the Customer, or both. You can create and edit your text via the Subject Line and Body Text fields
Below is the format of the Expire Email. The first two lines are automatically entered by the program.
Hello <customers name>
Your Web site at http://yourdomain.com/mwd/customer/ is due to expire on xx/xx/xxxx
<Body Text appears hear>
In order for the Expire Email to be sent, a cronjob must be created for the script named "expire.pl". This cronjob runs the script at the specified time which searches for websites that meet the criteria you have set above and then sends the email. Since a cronjob runs automatically via the server, you need to do nothing. Some servers do not allow cronjobs to be set and in those cases you will need to press the FORCE RENEW/DELETE button on the Admin Main Menu.
If we are hosting the software for you, then a cronjob has been set. If we installed it on your own server, then we would have notified you if it was not able to be set.
To send yourself an Expire Email test, replicate a website using your email address, select the expire date as tomorrow, and then press the FORCE RENEW/DELETE button on the main menu. You should receive the Expire Email within minutes.

Selecting Yes will enable the program to automatically delete replicated websites once they have expired. When using this feature you can notify clients in the Expire Email that if they do not reply before the expire date, their website will be automatically deleted. This automates the process so you need to do nothing in cases where the clients do not want to renew. If you don't want websites deleted automatically then select NO.
As with the Expire Email, a cronjob must be set in order to use this feature. If not, you can delete expired sites by using the FORCE RENEW/DELETE button.
After making any changes on the Settings screen, you MUST click the "Update Settings" button before they will take effect. Only click it once.
