Can the WAW logo be changed?
Yes. You can easily upload your own logo(s) in place of the WebAD Wizard logo at the top of each page. You can also select from seven different top left images, or upload your own.
Can I create my own mall theme?

Yes! You can customize and use WAW to fit your mall theme by adding your your own logos, categories and more! WAW has a variety of categories pre-installed and you can easily delete, edit or add your own to fit your theme. Themes can be as generic or specific as you want. For example, using the default categories your mall would appeal to a wide range of visitors and advertisers. If you wanted your mall to have a specific theme, create all your categories around that theme. For example, lets say you named your mall "The Business Opportunity Online Ad Mall". Your categories could be: work-at-home, computers, Internet, MLM, franchises, etc...

The concept of a themed ad mall enables you to focus more on a specific market. Below are some other examples.

  • Create an online mall specifically focused on your local city, state, region, or industry.
  • Create a business-to- business mall.
  • Create a mall focused on sports, sporting goods, memorabilia, or a specific sport such as golf.
  • Create a mall on health & nutrition, or pets & animals.
  • Create a mall on real estate, or antiques, or your hobby.
  • Create a mall on used automobiles, classic automobiles, parts.
  • Create a mall on business opportunities, or a specific type of opportunity such as affiliate programs, work-at-home, MLM, franchises, Internet related.
  • Create a mall on vacation and travel.
  • The list goes on and one. Create it on anything that interests you, or you think you can make money with!

Are there any benefits to hosting the software with you?
Yes. Our servers work perfectly with all features of the software. It is much easier to install, support and maintain our programs when they are installed on our high-speed servers. Our hosting prices are low because we don't need to make money on hosting. Our goal is to provide the best environment for our software to run. Our Subscription plans come hosted on our servers.
Are there any ongoing costs after I purchase WAW?

No! Once you purchase the software license, there are no other fees (unless your ordered optional hosting or domain registration). This does not include our Leasing or Subscription plans.

Can I install the software myself?

While you might think it would be easier and less costly for us to have you install it yourself, it actually isn't. Since we designed the program, we know know exactly how it works. Installing scripts such as this is not like installing software on your PC. Every server is configured differently and the software is not installed one certain way. We've installed it on many servers and know how to troubleshoot problems and to configure it optimally. Teaching you how to install the program, or supporting it after you've created problems, would take us hours or days to fix. If we didn't install it, we would have no way of knowing whether it was done correctly, therefore couldn't support it.

Why is there an empty grey area on the right side of my mall?

You probably have your resolution set at 800x600 or higher and since the site is created in a fixed width table of 600 pixels, you see a space. This is normal and is how many professional sites are created, such as aol.com and yahoo.com. You will see blank space because the page is designed so it will not stretch to each users resolutions. If it stretches, it distorts the content and makes the site look different to every viewer. In a fixed width table, the site looks the same no matter what resolution it is viewed at. If you change your resolution to 640x480 as many users do, you won't see it all. It is not possible to add any content to this area.

How will I know if an ad is placed, and can I preview it ?

As the admin, you will receive a copy of the same invoice email that is sent to the advertiser. If you want to preview each ad, simply click the link in the invoice email. If it is a paid ad, you must mark it paid before it can be viewed.

I don't have a website or much Web experience, can I still use WAW?

Yes! Almost anyone can use WAW to run their own ad mall, regardless of experience. If you don't have a hosting account, website, or domain name - no problem. We offer hosting, domain registration, and WAW can be used as your main website. All administration is easily done via your Browser. If you can browse our website and demo, then you can easily use WAW.

What is the difference between Purchase, Lease and Subscribe?

Purchasing it means you own a one installation license forever. We can install it on your current hosted site, or a new one that you host with us for an additional fee. Leasing enables you to pay small monthly payments over time with a buyout option at lease term. As with the Purchase, we can install it on your current site, or a new one we host for an additional fee. The Subscribe services enable you to use the software on a month-to-month basis (6 mth. min.). It includes hosting on our servers. Setup is easy and quick, there are no large upfront fees, you can cancel after 6 months, and there is a buyout option.

Can the software be installed on a website from a "free host" company?

No. Free host do not offer the configuration or resources needed.

Is this a CGI script that you upload to the server that hosts my site and will you need my passwords?

Yes, this is a CGI script that we can either install on your current website or a new one that we host. We will need FTP access if you want us to install it on your site.

How does an advertiser pay for an ad?

After placing an ad, the advertiser receives an invoice screen and email, which contain your editable payment instructions and secure order form link. You can integrate a payment system you currently have, or use the secure order form system that we provide. It's very flexible and you can use whatever payment methods you like.

Do I need a merchant account to use WAW?

No, you do not need a merchant account.

What payment methods can I accept for ads placed in my mall?

WAW is flexible and can be used with almost any payment solution. You can easily accept checks, money orders and credit cards. To accept credit cards, you will need a merchant account, which we can assist you in obtaining. Or, to accept credit cards without a merchant account you can look into the services of a company such as: PayPal or ClickBank.

Can I run WAW on more than one domain?

To use more than one copy of WAW, whether installed on the same or different domain, you will need to purchase additional licenses (or subscriptions), which we offer at a discount.

What is the "cron" function you mention in the server requirements?

Cron is a function on a Unix web server that enables programs to run automatically at a set times. With WAW, cron is used to run the renewal program that deletes expired ads and sends renewal emails. Some host providers do NOT allow cronjobs to be run. In cases (such as on NT servers) where cronjobs cannot be run, we have included a button in the Admin Panel, which you can use to run the renewal program.

Can I edit or change the WAW program?

No, the script source code, html files or images cannot be changed. All customization is done via your Admin Panel. Please contact us if you have a special request.

What are the server requirements?

Do I need to have a domain name?

No. If you don't have one, we can register one for you for a minimal fee. If you do have one, we can transfer it for free if you decide to host with us.

What is your upgrade policy?

Minor same version releases will be free of charge (i.e.; 1.8.6 to 1.9), and major releases will be available at a significantly reduced price (i.e.; 1.8.6 to 2.0). Both of the above upgrades are free on our Subscription plans.

Do you tell us how to promote our ad mall?

Our doors are always open to answer your questions, but just as with any website, how you use and market it is up to you. Every mall is used differently and there is no cookie-cutter marketing method. It all depends on your use, your budget, target audience, and many other factors. We recommend viewing the many free websites that strictly deal with Internet Marketing.
